We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it through our compliance with this privacy policy (“Policy”). This Policy describes the types of information we may collect from you or that you may provide (“Information”) when using our NAO-GA-interface service (NGI), our practices for collecting, using, maintaining, protecting, and disclosing that Information. It also describes the choices available to you regarding our use of your Personal Information and how you can access and update it.
This Policy is a legally binding agreement between you (“User”, “you” or “your”), the Google Assistant service (“GA”), and the Erasmus+AI-bility team(“We”, “Us” or “Our”). By accessing and using the Services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by the terms of this Policy. This Policy does not apply to the practices of companies that we do not own or control, or to individuals that we do not employ or manage.
The GA service relies on voice data, which represents Personal Information according to GDPR in case a user is logged in with their Google Account. However, the NAO-GA interface does not require the user to be logged into their respective Google accounts in order to use the GA and therefore any voice data is anonymized and does not represent personal information. The queries that the user may ask the assistant will be maintained in the google account activity log in the form of text-based questions along with the respective GA’s response. This information can be deleted at any point in time if requested by the user. This Google account is not the user’s personal google account and does not process any personal information. Any information exchange is only carried out in conversation with the GA. We do not process this data but refer to it from the GA service for analysis. This statistical information is not otherwise aggregated in such a way that would identify any particular user of the system.
Use and processing of collected information
The data that is collected is the exchange of dialogue in any form of voice or text with the GA as an activity log in the respective Google Account. This history will not be processed in any way by our team. It will only be analyzed to understand the user’s behavior for the research purpose.
At no point will the users be asked to disclose any personal information by our team and will be encouraged to not do so either in interaction with the GA services.
Survey questionnaire will be hosted over Sosci Survey which is a survey tool for researchers. This data will only consist of the questions and the respective responses given by the students without any personal tracking or identification. This ensures maintaining the privacy of the users without compromising any personal information. There will be no means of tracking which student exactly answered what.
Disclosure of information
To maintain the highest level of privacy and to protect your Personal Information to the full extent, we do not share your Personal Information with any third parties.
However, we may also disclose any Personal Information we collect or any withheld data, use or receive if required or permitted by law, such as to comply with a subpoena or similar legal process, and when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request.
The results of the research findings will only be published in journals and on the website blogs without compromising any personal data. The students, teachers, or parents may opt to get the results as well.
Do Not Track signals
Some browsers incorporate a Do Not Track feature that signals to websites you visit that you do not want to have your online activity tracked. Tracking is not the same as using or collecting information in connection with a website. For these purposes, tracking refers to collecting personally identifiable information from consumers who use or visit a website or online service as they move across different websites over time. How browsers communicate the Do Not Track signal is not yet uniform. As a result, the Services are not yet set up to interpret or respond to Do Not Track signals communicated by your browser. Even so, as described in more detail throughout this Policy, we limit our use and collection of your Personal Information. The account used during any online search will also be based on the Google Account provided to the user which will not consume any user-specific personal information. This also ensures user anonymity in online activity tracking- and masks the user identity with the single account provided to the user by us.
Information security
We secure the information you provide on computer servers in a controlled, secure environment, protected from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. We maintain reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards in an effort to protect against unauthorized access, use, modification, and disclosure of Personal Information in our control and custody. However, no data transmission over the Internet or wireless network can be guaranteed.
Therefore, while we strive to protect your Personal Information, you acknowledge that (i) there are security and privacy limitations of the Internet which are beyond our control; (ii) the security, integrity, and privacy of any and all information and data exchanged between you and the Services cannot be guaranteed; and (iii) any such information and data may be viewed or tampered with in transit by a third party, despite best efforts.
Data breach
In the event we become aware that the security of the Services has been compromised or Users’ Information has been disclosed to unrelated third parties as a result of external activity, including, but not limited to, security attacks or fraud, we reserve the right to take reasonably appropriate measures, including, but not limited to, investigation and reporting, as well as notification to and cooperation with law enforcement authorities. In the event of a data breach, we will make reasonable efforts to notify affected individuals if we believe that there is a reasonable risk of harm to the User as a result of the breach or if notice is otherwise required by law. When we do, we will send you an email, get in touch with you over the phone, or mail a letter to you.
Changes and amendments
We reserve the right to modify this Policy or its terms related to the Research at any time at our discretion. When we do, we will revise the updated date at the bottom of this page, update the policy on our webpage and inform the respective authorities who are in-charge of notifying you through the right channels.
An updated version of this Policy will be effective immediately upon the posting of the revised Policy unless otherwise specified.
